What happens on a pet job

  1. 1

    Find it

We inspect the rooms and go over the areas you know about, plus any we find.

  2. 2

    Treat it

The pet stain and odor treatment goes on the affected areas, for an additional fee.

  3. 3

    Clean it

Hot water extraction rinses the carpet, rug or fabric and takes the soil with it.

Why doesn’t a regular cleaning get the smell out?

Urine doesn’t stay on top. It runs through the fibers into the carpet pad, and sometimes into the subfloor, and as it ages it darkens and sets. A normal cleaning handles the visible soil and may not reach what’s under it. That’s why pet treatment is a separate step on our quotes. It’s sold with carpet cleaning, area rugs and upholstery alike.

Pet odor removal is a specialty named on our Google profile, and customers bring it up in reviews. We use eco-friendly, non-toxic solutions that we chose because they’re safe for children and pets. Keep your animals out of the room until it’s dry, usually 4 to 8 hours.

What should you tell us when you call?

Tell us how many rooms are affected, how old the stains are, whether the smell gets worse on humid days, and whether anything’s been tried on them already. Household cleaners can leave residue that changes the treatment. A few photos help. The add-on carries an additional fee, set by the job, and it will be in your quote before you book. See how we price jobs.

Severe cases can reach the pad or the floor below it, and cleaning from the top has limits there. Tell us if the smell has been around for years.

Pet Stain & Odor Removal: common questions

Can carpet cleaning remove dog urine smell?

Often, yes, when the treatment reaches where the urine went. Standard cleaning only handles the surface, so Steam Rollerz offers pet stain and odor removal as an add-on. A Forest Hills customer with dog urine throughout the house wrote that the job took a few hours and improved the smell.

How much extra is pet stain and odor treatment?

It’s an additional fee on top of the cleaning, set by the job, and Steam Rollerz doesn’t publish a fixed amount. How many rooms are affected and how long the stains have been there drive it. Mention pets when you request your free quote so the number includes the treatment.

Why do old pet stains come back after cleaning?

Urine soaks through the carpet into the pad and sometimes the floor below, and what’s left can wick back up as the carpet dries. That’s called wicking, and it’s why a surface wash isn’t enough. Tell Steam Rollerz how old the stains are, so the crew can plan for it.

Why do pet stains get darker over time?

Urine changes chemically as it dries and ages, which can darken it and set it into the fibers. A Forest Hills customer described stains that darkened over time and seemed impossible to remove. The sooner you treat a spot, the better: blot it, don’t scrub, and call (629) 207-0276.

Is pet odor treatment safe for my dog or cat?

Steam Rollerz uses eco-friendly, non-toxic solutions it describes as safe for children and pets. Keep animals out of the treated room until the carpet’s dry, usually 4 to 8 hours, so they don’t track through it or lie on damp fibers. Tell the crew about anything your pet is sensitive to.
